We are
situated in the small village of Saint Seurin de Palenne in the
Charente Maritime, six km from the medieval town of Pons.
Approximately 25 minutes to the North
West is the Roman town of Saintes and to the North East is Cognac.
La Rochelle and Bordeaux are around an hour away to the North
and South respectively.
We are surrounded by fields of sunflowers
and vines, the grapes from which are destined to become Cognac
or the local aperitif, Pineau des Charentes.
The fantastic beaches at Royan, Meschers
and Saint Georges de Didonne are a mere 40 minutes away.
We are centrally located to a number
of key transportation links:
Bordeaux airport is just over an
hour to the south.
La Rochelle airport is just over
an hour to the north.
The TGV currently stops at Angoulême,
around 50 minutes to the east. Also the new LGV extension means
that the journey time from Paris to Bordeaux is now only just
over 2 hours.
The A10 motorway has exits at Saintes
(25 minutes away) and Pons (10 minutes away).
